Elora Gorge Judge Change Announcement

 

Mr. William Rodriguez Umaña, Apartado 2136-2100, Guadalupe, San Jose, Costa Rica,

cannot fulfill his assignment with The Elora Gorge Kennel Club, December 27, 28, 29, 2010,

The following are the Judges and Assignments to replace Mr. William Rodriguez Umaña’s, assignment;

R. Bob Rowbotham,  will be accepting the Following  assignments

Sunday December 27, 2009 # 093170 - ALL breeds in Group 3 plus Group 3. as well as balance of Breeds in Group 3.

Monday December 28, 2009 # 093171- R. Bob Rowbotham will judge all Breeds in Group 2 and Group 2.

 

Norma Egginton, 602 467 Edinburgh Rd S., Guelph, ON N1G 2Y6, will be accepting the Following  assignments f

Sunday December 27, 2009 # 093170  - all Breeds in Group 5 and Group 5.

OUR 2009 JUDGING PANEL

 

Dr. Oscar Robert Echandi and Norma Escalante Fonseca

This husband and wife team have been breeding since 1983 and to this date have bred 32 Breeds among them: Shar Pei, Beagle, German Shepherd, Dachshund, Golden Retriever Chinese Crested etc. Four of their dogs have been awarded dog of  the Year in Costa Rica.

Dr. Oscar Robert Echandi is an active member of the Costa Rican Kennel Club where he has served on the Board of Directors and several committees. He is an active Veterinarian and also teaches at the Veterinary Medicine School of the National University of Costa Rica. He also hosts a very popular television show. Together they have three children.

 

Mr. William Rodriguez Umana

Mr. Rodriquez originally bred German Shepherds and has also bred and shown Pointers, English Setters, Miniature Schnauzers, Australian Terriers, Papillons, Pugs, Whippets, Pekinese and Wire Fox Terriers. He is a member of the Costa Rican Kennel Club and has represented the Club throughout the World. He has judged in Equator, Honduras, Mexico, Columbia, Guatemala, Argentine, Chile, Brazil, El Salvador and the United States. Mr. William Rodriquez Umana is a Lawyer by Profession and a Journalist. This is his first judging assignment in Canada.

 

Mr. Robert (Bob) Rowbotham 

Bob is a broadcast journalist by trade, who has spent the last 20 years managing a radio station in Trenton, Ontario. He has been heavily involved with purebred dogs since 1975 when he purchased a purebred Afghan Hound. Over the years he has participated in conformation, obedience and lure coursing.   For over 20  years as a Professional Handler Bob attended more than 120 shows a year campaigning and exhibiting several breeds covering all seven groups.   Over those years many of these dogs attained Top Dog status in their respective breeds and groups, and he has shown dogs to over 100 Best in Show wins. His house dogs have included Afghan Hounds, Salukis, Mini Dachshunds, Labrador and Golden Retrievers , and a Lakeland Terrier and he has bred Salukis and co-bred litters of Labrador and Golden Retrievers.   Bob has been judging for seven years and he is currently licensed for two and a half groups and on provisional status for half of Group Three.  He is presently the Canadian Kennel Club Director for Eastern Ontario.

 

Ms. Wendy Schira

Ms. Schira has owned purebred dogs for over 15 years, first owning a Golden Retriever and then a Rough Collie. She currently owns and breeds Golden Retrievers and Flat-coated Retrievers under the Butterblac prefix.
Ms. Schira is active is several All-Breed Clubs where she has held a number of Executive positions including Chief Ring Steward, Treasurer and President. She also ring stewards and teaches Conformation Show Handling classes. She is also a Vice President of the Southwestern Ontario Sporting Dog Club.
